‘Diabolical Lie’ -Gov’t Spanks Anti-Kemaya Stooges

The Government of Liberia says recent polemic on social Media that President George Weah is asking for the resignation of Foreign Minister Dee-Maxwell Saah Kemayah, Sr. is diabolical, far-fetched and untrue; a wishful act on the part of anti-Kemaya stooges who would go at every length to besmear the hard-earned character of Liberia’s Foreign Minister, ever since he was appointed to steer the affairs of the country’s foreign policy.

According to a press statement issued on the weekend of May 29, 2021, this unfounded claim is an integral part of series of calculated lies; including, but not limited to the fake news of the denial of United States Visa.

“Foreign Minister Kemayah continues to enjoy the full confidence of President Weah. There has never ever been a time where the Liberian leader expressed dissatisfaction to Amb. Kemayah about his performance; let alone asking him to resign,” the Government indicated.

As a matter of fact, the Liberian Government, through its spokesman, Information Minister, Ledgerhood J. Rennie says President Weah’s level of confidence in Foreign Minister Kemayah is at an all time high.

“Moreover, Foreign Minister Kemayah continues to enjoy the cordiality, cooperation, support and respect of the Diplomatic and Consular Corps in Liberia for his dedication and diligence to his work and the Reform Process at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and commitment to rebrand Liberia’s Foreign Service as expressed by Representatives of the Diplomatic Community; including remarks by the Doyen and Deputy Doyen of the Diplomatic Corp and the Former Dean of the Consular Corp at the recent Cocktail Reception hosted by the Ministry in honor of the Diplomatic Community,” the statement stressed.

The statement emphasized that the Dean of the Liberian Cabinet is busy at work implementing the mandate of the President who is the Chief Architect of Liberia’s Foreign Policy and will not be distracted by detractors who have long time been on an unsuccessful take down campaign unjustifiably targeted at Amb. Kemayah.

“Though these detractors are going at lengths daily in their efforts to continue to malign Foreign Minister Kemayah, the Government of Liberia encourages and fully supports Amb. Kemayah to continue his exceptional performance and ongoing Reform Process of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Liberia’s Foreign Service. Minister Kemayah has accompanied President Weah to Accra, Ghana to attend an extraordinary Session of the Authority of ECOWAS Heads of State and Government on Mali which began Sunday, May 30th, 2021.

In recent weeks, social media has been awashed with claims of President George Weah calling for the resignation of Minister Kemaya.
