On Sunday, January 12, 2020, a prominent Liberian politician, Cornelius Hunter took to social media Facebook to “clear chest” on what he calls “troubling situation surrounding the Vice President of Liberia, Chief Dr. Jewel Howard-Taylor.

SAY or THINK, whatever you may about her, we have ALL sinned or made mistakes in our daily lives and not in ANY way suggesting that she is a SAINT but she DESERVES to be TREATED and ACCORDED, ALL RIGHTS, COURTESIES, PRIVILEGE, BENEFITS, RESPECT ASSIGNED to HER under our LAWS.
Let me STATE here CLEARLY for the RECORDS, that she REMAINS THE POLITICAL PARTY LEADER, of the NPP, within the RULING COALITION FOR DEMOCRATIC CHANGE and will No longer hereafter, sit surpinely to WITNESS, what has unfolded, to continue unabated, without SERIOUS CORRECTIVE MEASURES being taken to AVERT this TREND of GROSSED DISRESPECT and DISREGARD to HER.
For this Country to PROGRESS and MOVE FORWARD, there MUST be PEACE, UNITY of PURPOSE and GENUINE RECONCILIATION amongst ALL LIBERIANS, having a SAY N STAKE in our NATIONAL AGENDA.
The RULING CONGRESS FOR DEMOCRATIC CHANGE, the CDC that RUNS the Country, MUST at ALL times strive to STRENGTHENING and UPHOLDING the Rule of LAW; and MUST BE SEEN TO RESPECTING it’s own RULES and RECOGNISE, and RESPECT it’s MEMBERS RIGHTS and more IMPORTANTLY CONDUCT ITSELF, in a RESPECTABLE AND RESPONSIBLE MANNER, that will WIN the PUBLIC INTEREST and RESPECT.
I have FOLLOWED with KEEN INTEREST and VARIFIED pieces of INFORMATION available to me that SADLY ALL is STILL NOT WELL, after series of MEDIATION EFFORTS, within the RULING Coalition Government. A house divided AGAINST ITSELF can not MAKE any REAL progress. THIS has GOT TO END for the good of ALL and COUNTRY.
I have gathered that SHE no LONGER goes to WORK or ATTENDS major Functions for the past 3 weeks and counting, due to the various THREAT levels and INADEQUATE SUPPORT simply because of the following:
A. No official armoured vehicle for use by her for almost a year, which has since broken down for repair or to be replaced , along with security detail vehicles to include escort.
B. Default or non payment on leased property of the present Residence in which she now resides.
C. Non or DELAYED processing or RELEASE of budgetary APPROPRIATED CHECKS to her office for a PROTRACTED period to effectively MANAGE her WELLBEING and run her office effectively to include the, Lack of regular fuel or gasoline, stationary and office supplies.
D. She is hardly CONSULTED or in the KNOW of MOST decisions taken in the PARTY let alone the Country.
E. The lack of RESPECT and COURTESY rendered HER and HER OFFICE from other COILLIATION members and OFFICIALS of GOVERNMENT, without impunity, among others.
Mr. President, IF THESE grave allegations are TRUE, this is UNACCEPTABLE and REGRETTABLE under your watch.
If you WEREN’T in the KNOW THEN , I NOW URGE you to exercise WISDOM, in bringing THIS to a CLOSURE at the NATIONAL RETREAT, scheduled for Feb. 14, 2020 in Monrovia.
Above all, SHE is YOUR PRINCIPAL DEPUTY, a MOTHER and a SISTER to you. Therefore, you have an OBLIGATION that this, SHOULD or MUST not be allowed to continue THIS way ANY further.
We MUST ALL get THERE together.
MY MIND IS NOW CLEARED.
