Koijee Donates Medical Supplies To Porluma Clinic in Foya, Appreciates Nurses Sacrifice

On the sidelines of President George Manneh Weah’s visit to Lofa County, Monrovia City Mayor Jefferson Tamba Koijee moved to appreciate nurses at the Porluma Clinic in Waum, Foya, Lofa for their sacrifices in saving lives despite the challenges that abound.
Mayor Koijee said it was high time that citizens regardless of their status make lifesaving interventions in critical areas that have direct impact on the lives of the ordinary people while the central government deals with the bigger issues.
He donated a cash of L$30,000.00 to the nurses as his meager way of saying thank you to them for putting their lives on the line for their kinsmen as well as those who benefit from the service they render at the clinic.
According to Mayor Koijee, passing by the clinic and seeing the ardent efforts being made to deliver healthcare to the people of Foya ignited the need for some intervention that would augment the clinic’s capacity to do more.
Hence, he requested the Officer in Charge (OIC) of the Clinic, Moses Bonda to travel to Monrovia to receive essential medical supplies as his own way of recognizing what the medical professionals at the clinic are doing.
“Coming here and seeing what you are doing for the people in terms of healthcare delivery under unbearable circumstances demands a helping hand no matter how little. We hold strongly that with our support and the help of others, your capacity to render quality healthcare services would be enhanced,” Mayor Koijee stressed.
OIC Bonda said he was elated by the Mayor’s philanthropy that would go a long way to enhance Porluma Clinic capacity to service the people of Waum.
He enumerated the elasticity of the challenges at the clinic and asked other well-meaning citizens to join hands in helping the clinic serve the people better.
Mr. Bonda said he is on his way to Monrovia to immediately receive the medical supplies because the clinic is in dire need of them.
For their part, the nurses thanked Mayor Jefferson Tamba Koijee for his interest in their service to the people under difficult situations. They added that the needs at the clinic as well as across the Foya Statutory District are enormous and all hands are needed on deck to help.
