Police in Nimba county have arrested, charged and sent to court a-64 year old man for allegedly rapping a-five year old girl.
The incident, according to an LNP source occurred on the 16th of October this year in Saclepea, central Nimba county.
According to our source, a formal complaint was filed by the victim’s father, Nelson Zengain, a citizen of Nimba who resides in Grand Gedeh county against suspect Peter Yeegan, a resident of Saclepea city on the 17th of October that he (Peter) sexually abused his (Nelson) five years old daughter during the of October 16.
Few hours after the complaint was filed with the Women and Children Department of the Liberia National Police, Saclepea Detail, suspect Peter Yeegan was arrested, charged for Statutory Rape and forward to the Criminal Court E in Sanniquillie for trial.
Our source further revealed that this is the second time suspect Peter Yeegan has been arrested in connection with rape.
According to our source, suspect Yeegan was arrested charged for Statutory Rape in 2017 for allegedly rapping a-12 year old girl in Saclepea, but was allegedly released by the court in the same year.
