The City Government of Monrovia in collaboration with its implementing partner, the Liberia Crusaders for Peace will on Tomorrow, Wednesday,August 19,2020 commence the payment of Two Thousand Five Hundred
Communicators and Mobilizers.
The Two Thousand Five Hundred Communicators and Mobilizers were
recruited and trained during the start of the Corona virus in Liberia to educate citizens about the risk associated with the novel corona
virus and how it can be prevented.
They were recruited from various structures including Townships,Muslim and Christian communities, Traditional Chiefs and Elders,
Federation of Liberia Youth, Albino Society, Disabled communityamongst others.
The payment follows months of negotiation with the Government ofLiberia and International partners.The targeted people will begin receiving compensations through the
Liberia Crusaders for peace office, an implementing partner of the Monrovia City Government.
All beneficiaries must have national Identification card, driver license or passport before receiving any money for transparency and accountability purposes.
The Liberia Crusaders for Peace has indicated that it will not payanybody if he or she does not meet the requirement, noting that the
payment is in line with the Public Financial Management Law.
Three Hundred and Fifty persons are expected to be paid a daybeginning tomorrow at the headquarters of the Liberia Crusaders for
Peace, Capitol bye-pass, Monrovia.
Monrovia City Mayor Jefferson T. Koijee speaking recently at a press conference noted that President George Weah has worked with the Ministry of Finance in securing US $1.2 million to pay 8,500volunteers which include Active Case Finders, Mobilizers and
