“My Mind Is Functioning Well” – Former President Sirleaf Responds to Loss of Memory Claim

Former Liberian President, Madam Ellen Johnson Sirleaf says her mind is functioning well and recent newspaper headline attributed to her is a work of “foolish newspaper doing something sensational”.

“Do I look like somebody who will say I am 80 years and I can’t remember? Come on! You got some foolish papers here that always doing sensational things and those sensational things are not true. So we are accustom to that,” she said in an interview with Journalist Jonathan Paye-Layleh.

According to the former Liberian President, anyone who says such about her should go and check themselves.

“There is absolutely no fact to that. I am very strong. My mind is functioning very well,” she added.

Commenting on the ongoing investigation into the missing L$16 billion saga, Madam Johnson-Sirleaf said some investigators have visited her and she told that everything she did was documented.

“It is not by mouth; it is by document. It is by paper. Anybody who wants to know what I have done should please go to the records at the Ministry of State for Presidential Affairs. It is written there and they will get full clarification on anything”, the African first female President indicated.
