Residents of Duport Road, GSA Road, ELWA Junction, Rehab Community, and other nearby communities in Paynesville would not see a bank that provides first class service until they come to Congo Town or Sinkor. This undoubtedly wrecks nerves and the United Bank for Africa (UBA) Liberia has stepped to the rescue of customers out of its quest to render problem-solving banking services to the public by opening a new branch at the ELWA Junction in Paynesville on Saturday, December 15, 2018.
UBA Liberia Managing Director, Olalekan Balogun said the decision to set up a branch at nucleus of several communities in the Paynesville suburb came based on the banking institution’s uncompromising desire to address problems arising from customers across Liberia.
“Every time we talk to customers around here, they would complain of not being able to come to areas where UBA branches are located. So we decided to provide solution. It is our guarding principle that whenever our customers speak, we listen,” the UBA Liberia boss stated.
He added “today is a dream come true and it would not have been possible without the support of our customers because without we will not have a bank. So, we will be still be relying on the continuous support of our customers going forward.”
“UBA, we are here stay. I remember this year, there were stories all over the place that businesses were shutting down. This is a testament that we still have serious confidence in the economy of Liberia. There are so many new things to come especially with the opening of another branch in the next one month,” MD Balogun indicated.
According to him, at UBA, customers are first priority; we take pride in our customers.”
Central Bank of Liberia Assistant Director for Supervision and Surveillance of the Department of Regulation and Supervision, D. Bouleigh Cooper said UBA’s move will go a long way in improving the banking sector as well as create jobs for Liberians.
Mr. Cooper admonished employees of the bank to maintain their good level of professionalism in the discharge of their duties as the institution expands its operations in the banking sector and the CBL remains supportive.
For her part, the ELWA Junction Branch Manager, Gwendolyn Allen assured customers that the new branch will lift the bar of quality banking services higher so that they can access their money without sweat.
